Serves purpose well.
Bought this for my three year-old's birthday. After maybe a couple days she was able to operate it easily, but did break the antenna from being a bit too rough. Her fault though, not Sony's. It's definitely a nice radio for a little girl.
Yes! Even for a 4 year old!
I bought this for my 4 year old daughter and she loves it! She is able to work it all by herself in radio and cd modes. It doesn't get very loud. It is a smaller unit and some of her older nursery rhyme cds need to be played on the highest volume. For a child or smaller room, it is great. I would not get this for a teenager that wants loud music!

we are enjoying this cd player. we only let her listen to one radio station so this gives her many other music options since she is a lover of music.
the only annoying part of the marketing they used for this boombox is they describe it as having a digital am/fm tuner. this could not be farther from the truth. it's just your average turn dial.
the sound is great, far better than the clock radio she was using.
Great basic radio/cd player
I bought this as a gift for my daughter. It is basic, pink, and you can plug in an ipod to the input/output jack. I wasn't looking for a Bose radio, and this has pretty decent sound for the price (It was way cheaper here than in the stores). It's just a great, all-purpose boombox.
Good for a kid, but mediocre sound quality
This CD player is very easy to use, with nice big buttons/knobs. I've been a little disappointed by the sound quality, though -- it's not outright bad, just very cheap/mediocre. It's fine for a little background music in my daughter's room, but I wouldn't be satisfied using it to play my own CDs.
