A Clam Phone that doesn’t Clam Up!

Philips’ “sense and simplicity” produces another product that could be described as simply “chic classic”. Simple, functional, and easy to use without further ado ladies and gentlemen, chiqtech.com presents Philip’s Xenium 9@9q.

I oh so adore clamshell phones. They fit in your purse or jean pocket and nestle all so neatly in the palm of one’s hand.

People would argue that clam phones are so inconvenient because one had to flip open the phone and for some, it requires two hands. What I say to those who cannot open a clam phone in one easy flip and get rattled during an urgent phone call with the insistent ringing and vibration is PRACTICE, PRACTICE and PRACTICE!.

Based on its specs on its official website, Philips’ newly introduced Xenium 9@9q has a 1.3-megapixel camera with video capture, an music player that supports MP3, AAC and WMA, a microSD slot (up to 2GB extra memory), Bluetooth as well as USB interfaces.

Philips new Xenium 9@9q boasts a unique, probably its best, feature: an unusually long battery life for a mobile phone,  a standby time of 720 hours (approximately one full month) and a talk time of eight hours!

GAAAWD! I just so need to find out whether the battery life can really last a month on standby!
However I am quite reluctant of testing its claim of eight straight hours’ talk time on a single charge. Imagine the phone bills that would take? I doubt my editors would let that slide.

But considering the regular, average mobile phones out there, Philips’ Xenium 9@9q long, long battery life can be such a boon! Especially in other phone activities such as SMS texting, MMS, exchanging files via Bluetooth, camera and video capture, and music play.

When you are on the road most of the time, far away from any electrical outlet to plug in for a charge or when you’re always too busy to bother to check your mobile phone’s battery.

The clamshell phone is available in phantom black and red. It weighs only 0.086 kg and measures 46.5 by 18.3 by 99.3 cm, and has a 262k Thin-film Transitor LCD screen.
